The perfect lake for grand vistas.  Check out the twin peaks of Mount Pisgoh and Mount Hor on the Western and Eastern shores of the lake.  It remains a popular and beautiful destination for boating, beaches, and icy cold swims.

2. Lake Waramaug | Kent, Connecticut

Known for its sandy beaches and pristine water, this S-shaped lake is located in the rolling forested hills of rural Litchfield County. Visitors today enjoy a peaceful retreat for swimming, fishing, boating, and camping at Lake Waramaug State Park.

This pond which is the largest of Rhode Island's seven lagoons features beautiful shores lined with trails for daytime hikes and fishing.  Along its coast is also the city of Charleston, Rhode Island, home to marinas, beautiful houses and other waterside activities.

4. Lake Winnipesaukee | Belknap County, New Hampshire

The biggest of lakes in New Hampshire's Lake region, there's something for just about everyone along the 200+ Miles of coastline.  Secluded camping, trails, boardwalks, old money homes, name it and they've got it somewhere on this lake.
